BLACK GOLD DAYS June 19, 20, 21, 2008 The largest annual city celebration, Black Gold Days consists of arts and crafts, the “Pride Amusements” carnival, a free Bluegrass concert and a parade on Saturday. Thursday evening is Gospel night and Friday is the Talent Showcase and Western music night. Saturday is the day for the parade and free Bluegrass Festival. GLENPOOL RESTAURANT CRAWL 2008 • an evening of food and adventure as for a single price, “crawlers” go from one participating business or restaurant to the next, sampling their goodies and offerings. Many merchants also participate with such food treats as cookies, brownies and veggie trays. CHRISTMAS PARADE December 2008 • Santa, floats, and area bands are invited to participate. Contact the Chamber for an entry form or download it from this web site. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BANQUET The Chamber's annual banquet is held each January. The Citizen of the year will be honored, as well as a review of activities of the past year and projection of the upcoming projects of the coming year. There will be excellent food and opportunity to visit with fellow members. The banquet features a silent auction with many varied and valuable items for sale. Prizes are also given to the the businesses with the best decorated tables. Call the Chamber of Commerce when the event draws near for information and for reservations. GLENPOOL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE GOLF TOURNAMENT 2009. To be held at White Hawk Golf Course (151st & Yale), a 4 person scramble where everyone stands a chance at prizes and is guaranteed an enjoyable time.
