About Us

The Glenpool Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1983. Since that time it has grown to become the effective and useful organization that we know today.  Formed for the purpose of serving as a common voice for the business community, we have been able to funnel our effort and energies into a variety of worthwhile and welcome activities.

The Chamber of Commerce was instrumental in achieving a unified telephone service for all of Glenpool. Prior to the Chamber's involvement and effort, Glenpool was divided by 141st street into two calling zones.  Long distance charges were incurred in calling from one side of the street to the other.  After successfully petitioning the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and Southwestern Bell Telephone, we now experience toll free calling to metropolitan Tulsa, including Broken Arrow.

The Chamber has taken an active role in informing the public about issues facing our country and community.  Several public forums have been sponsored by the Chamber to enable the public to be informed about current issues as well as to meet and converse with the policy makers of our government of various levels.  Local level elections have benefited by the many Candidate forums also sponsored by the Chamber.

Other services provided by the Chamber include the monthly publication "The Chamber News Update", containing relevant information relating to the Glenpool business community.  The Chamber publishes a descriptive brochure that is distributed to those who inquire about our area. This is updated throughout the year and includes a current roster of Chamber members and their phone numbers. A welcome packet, containing information from each of our members, is distributed to each new resident of Glenpool.

Consumer support of our local merchants (buying at home), means that we are helping our community grow.  Strong consumer support will not only provide the sales tax revenue needed by the City of Glenpool to provide necessary services and facilities, but will help attract other businesses to the area. As new businesses and industries locate here, they will provide local jobs, saving many of us the daily hassle of commuting to other areas. New construction will also provide a broader tax base to maintain our school and municipal systems, relieving the burden on individual homeowners.

The Glenpool Chamber meets on a monthly basis on the second Wednesday.  For information on joining, or about our luncheons, call the Chamber office at 322-3505.  The public is invited to attend and participate.
